Northern Two-Lined Salamander
Eurycea bislineata
Two-lined Salamanders
are slender yellow salamanders found statewide, often in or around streams. These salamanders feed on a wide array of aquatic
invertebrates. When confronted by a predator, they employ a range of defense mechanisms; freezing, quickly wiggling away,
and lastly, dropping their tails to distract the attacker.
