Pickerel Frog Rana palustris
Often confused with leopard frogs, Pickerel frogs have yellow under their legs
and their spots tend to be more "squared" than rounded. The yellow coloration is thought to be a warning to their unpalatability,
and their skin secretions can kill other frogs kept in the same enclosure. They are found statewide.
