Little Brown Bat
Myotis lucifugus
Little Brown
Bats are likely the most common bat in New York. They occur statewide, but have recently seen a 90% population reduction in
many areas due to “White nose syndrome”, a fungal infection from Europe that was first discovered in NY Caves
in 2006/2007.
