Snowy Egret
Egretta thula

Pursued for their feathers at the around the turn of the 20th century, Snowy Egrets have since recovered.  In New York, these birds can be found breeding along the coast of Long Island, Staten Island, and Long Island sound. They can be identified by their yellow feet, which contrast sharply with the dark legs of mature adults.
